The flight deck safety boot (or I-5), has front lace eyelet/speed loop closure with 'V' notch, and soft resilient leather padded collar, full lining, and removable comfort insole. The upper is full grain leather. The outsole and heel is a one-piece rubber, consisting of a non-marking, oil and jet fuel-resistant compound with traction tread design.
